They're Here!

Cucumber beetles.

Here to lay their eggs. Here to chew on my cucurbits. Here to spread their nasty bacteria. Here to kill my cucumber and melon plants.

They're here to break my heart. (Remember what they did to my beautiful cucumber and cantaloupe plants and fruit last year?)

I first found one a few days ago and took great delight in squishing it. I squished some more this morning and tonight. Mostly they're hanging out on the squash plants--thank goodness--but I have found one on the cucumbers. The first wave is the striped boogers. I found the first spotted one today. Squished it, of course.
